Elliott Andalman was a panelist on Friday, December 7th, at the Maryland Mediator’s Convention on a Facilitated Panel on Expanding Access to Health Care for Disabled Persons in Maryland.
The hour and a half long discussion addressed the many problems in expanding access to health care and may lead to the establishment of a task force to address these important issues for both Maryland and the country.
Other panelists included:
(1) Robert Dinerstein, a professor of law and Director of the Clinical Program and Director of the Disability Rights Law Clinic at Washington College of Law at American University;
(2) George Failla, Jr., Deputy Secretary, Maryland Department of Disabilities (MDOD) and
(3) Rhonda Workman, Assistant Director for State and Federal Relations with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Developmental Disabilities Administration.
The panel was facilitated by Robert Rhudy and Gary Norman. Mr. Norman is a Commissioner of the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights. Mr. Rhudy is an attorney, mediator, consultant, and trainer who served during 2009-2011 as Director of Mediation for the Maryland Court of Special Appeals.
