The Social Security Administration reported that the 2015 Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for Social Security benefit recipients will be 1.7 percent, effective January 2015. The COLA increase will affect Social Security Retirement beneficiaries as well as Social Security Disability benefits recipients. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) beneficiaries will receive the COLA increase as of Dec. 31, 2014.
