Andalman & Flynn was again a sponsor of the Mississippi on the Potomac reception for the Mississippi Center for Justice (MCJ) on May 1, 2018. This year, Elliott Andalman, Eden Terenzini, Julianne Borton, and Martha Yezlek of the firm all attended the event which raises money for the MCJ, a non-profit organization dedicated to working for social and economic justice in Mississippi. This year’s event recognized the important work of Norman Rosenberg over the last decade in raising money for and otherwise making MCJ a successful program. Staff members described some of the inspiring work of the Center, which includes enforcing the rights of students and regaining the right to vote for individuals improperly denied under the Mississippi Constitution of 1890, among many other issues. Joyce Ladner and Robert Raben were honored for their careers dedicated to improving civil rights of minorities and others in Mississippi and throughout the country. Speakers included former US Attorney General, Eric Holder, and Marian Wright Edelman, founder and president of the Children’s Defense Fund.
